I’ll Show You Mine

Here I am again- starting a new project. If you’ve followed me for long, you know I have a case of the try-everything’s. You may even be rolling your eyes at me right now. “Let’s see how long THIS one lasts.” It’s okay, I’m with you.

The funny thing is– that’s kind of what brought this blog thing about. The reason I’ve jumped from one thing to the next is because my life has been changing constantly- which it has a tendency to do- but over the last 5, almost 6 years for me especially. That’s when the tiny humans began to enter my life. I’ve learned the struggle of a working mom, as well as a stay-at-home mom. They are the reason I have jumped from one thing to the next, trying to figure out what works be for ME and MY FAMILY. I long for the days when I could find
a job and be consistent and reliable. But the truth is, that is not my reality at this point in time. My reality is that I have 3 adorable monsters who depend on me for everything, from what to eat for dinner, to learning how to be a decent human being. So if my life is crazy, why start something AGAIN, you ask? Good question.
I believe that we are here on earth, together, for a reason. It is so that we can lift each other up and support on another through the hardships of life. I know that I am not the first woman to experience what motherhood- or even just life in general- has to offer, and I’ll certainly not be the last. This is my attempt to reach out and let friends and family alike, that you are not alone. I’m betting that we share some similar experiences. Also, sometimes I’ve got to get it all out, rather than bottling it up and trying to make it through alone. I think that if I can get it out in writing, I’ll be less likely to explode at the ones I love most. Trust me, they appreciate that.
There is a song that inspired the title of my blog. It is called “If We’re Honest.” The lyrics are as follows:
“Truth is harder than a lie The dark seems safer than the light And everyone has a heart that loves to hide I’m a mess and so are you We’ve built walls nobody can get through
Yeah, it may be hard, but the best thing we could ever do, ever do Bring your brokenness, and I’ll bring mine ‘Cause love can heal what hurt divides And mercy’s waiting on the other side If we’re honest If we’re honest Don’t pretend to be something that you’re not Living life afraid of getting caught There is freedom found when we lay our secrets down at the cross, at the cross
So bring your brokenness, and I’ll bring mine
‘Cause love can heal what hurt divides And mercy’s waiting on the other side If we’re honest If we’re honest It would change our lives It would set us free It’s what we need to be So bring your brokenness, and I’ll bring mine ‘Cause love can heal what hurt divides And mercy’s waiting on the other side If we’re honest”
(I first heard this song sung by Mercy River, but my google search indicates that it is originally written and sung by Francesca Battistelli .)

So this is my attempt to change my life with honesty and owning up to the fact that I have much to learn, and far to grow. I’m hoping that by sharing my experiences, I will be able to form connections and offer hope to my friends and family.
